2nd visit to orthopedic doctor in KSA, MRI and CENTOGRAM results

Upon return from holidays to Saudi Arabia, we immediately went to an orthopedic doctor recommended to us, at Dallah Hospital. He was Saudi, very well educated, listening attentively, patient with all my questions and concerns. He ordered at once MRI of L's left leg.

Diagnosis: Vascular Malformation in the soleus muscle and part of gastrocnemeus.

Findings of the MRI result.

MRI left leg.
Clinical information: Left calf swelling and pain

FINDINGS:
- An abnormal signal lesion seen in the middle part of the muscle belly of the soleous muscle. it measures 88mm in craniocaudal extend with the cross secion of 32x25mm. It is low on T1W and high signal on T2W and fat sat images and shows flow voids. It shows marked post contrast enhancement with serpigenous enhancing vessels in it. MR signal characteristics are consistent with vascular malformations likely hemagnioma. There is edema and fluid signal in the soleus and part of the medial head of the gastrocnemeus muscle likely suggestive of post traumatic changes/muscle strain.
Normal marrow signal intensity of all seen bones.
No evidence of periosteal reaction.

We were assured condtion is treatable, and upon the relevant medical treatment L should be able to walk again in a normal way.

We also did a CENTOGRAM (hip to ankle) standing.

Findings:
- There is shortening of the left lower limb. The right lower limb measures 824 mm, and the left lower limb measures 805 mm. (measurements are taken from the upper part of greater trochanter to tibial plafond).

Discrepancy was corrected by the insole made in my home country [using scanners for the foot].

Our next step: a visit to a radiologist at Sulayman Al-Habib Hospital.
